Touch down in the Land of the Rising Sun!
After several movies, games of settlers and countless drinks aboard Singapore Airlines we arrived in Japan! A rather long wait to get through inmmigration but they allowed us into their wonderful country, and it is wonderful indeed. We are having a fabulous time. We caught a train through the city of Osaka and marvelled at the assortment of different houses and buildings. We settled into the hotel and then headed off to the frisbee. Mum was desperate to see Andrew. His excellent communication waned a little and she hadn't heard from him in a week! Well there was an emotional reunion and plenty of hugging and kissing (on Mum's side anyway). We got straight into the frisbee scene and checked out the Mens (open team), Womens, Mixed and Masters all on the first day. Three wins from three already for the Dingos (Andrew's team)!!! Finished off the day with a delicious (oiishi) dinner at a local Japanese Restaurant. Luckily they had a picture menu and with our bit of Japanese and their bit of English we were able to order a lovely meal. I was excited that I was able to use the Japanese I learnt at uni this semester and order us all some water. I called this the day of many thanks! We said 'arigato gazaimasu' (thank you) so often today...some correctly, others not so much! We have decided that each day we will learn (and hopefully) master a Japanese word or phrase. We then finished off the evening with a walk around the area and checked out a local book shop. It was really cool to see Harry Potter and the Hunger Games in Japanese!
